Stefan Dorondel and Stelu Serban started the fieldwork in the project. Their first two stops: Insula Cailor (Island of the Horses) near Galați and Cotul Pisicii (Grindu) village, Tulcea county. What is the role of these landmarks in the life of communities? How does their dynamic geomorphology affect humans and non-humans alike?

The Island of the Horses is named after the wild horses living on this island. Previously domestic horses were released on the island to roam freely and now they are wild. The locals mentioned that they have observed two studs.
The island is permanently changing its shape. The photos show the latest extension of the island: the silt accumulates and then the vegetation starts to grow.

Ștefan Dorondel și Stelu Serban au început munca de teren în proiect. Primele două opriri: Insula Cailor lângă Galați și satul Cotul Pisicii (Grindu), județul Tulcea. Ce rol au aceste zone în viața comunităților? Cum afectează geomorfologia lor dinamică atât oamenii, cât și non-oamenii?
La Cotul Pisicii, dinamica fluxului face ca curenții dunărene să sapă în mal și să îl erodeze (imaginea de început: eroziunea malului la Cotul Pisicii).
Insula Cailor își trage numele de la caii sălbatici care trăiesc pe această insulă. În trecut caii domestici erau eliberați pe insulă pentru a trăi liber și acum s-au sălbăticit. Localnicii au menționat că au observat doi armăsari.
Insula își schimbă permanent forma. Fotografiile arată cea mai recentă extindere a insulei: nămolul se acumulează și apoi vegetația începe să crească.
